Sakedokoro Eizaburo (Cuppage Plaza)

This casual yet refined izakaya w cosy sakedokoro vibes has this belief — drinks come first, but food’s never an afterthought. We tried their customisable dinner course & 90-mins free-flow alcohol for just $59++, and can pick from 1 starter, 1 sashimi platter, 3 yakitori, 1 fried dish AND 1 main (+ add-ons), all paired w free-flow highballs, umeshu, beer & sake. We had their Smashed Cucumber w Chilli Oil which was mildly spicy & savoury, just a bit salty toward the end. Mentaiko Cube w Mayo had a creative pollock roe cube with a hint of wasabi — light & refreshing. Tried their Sashimi Platter, where they have fresh seafood flown in from Toyosu — feast for the eyes & stomach. Added on Uni Sashimi (+$14.90) which was a GORGEOUS presentation of creamy, ocean-sweet sea urchin w crispy seaweed. Melting Cheesy Ham Cutlets were cheesy w good crunch, though I’d love a thicker cut. Chicken Nanban w Egg Tartar sauce comprised of tender fried chicken, just a tad soggy from the generous, delicious egg tartar :”) Had the following yakitoris and we loved them !! Had Mune (breast), Bonjiri (tail), Tebasaka (wing), Tebamoto (drumstick), Hatsu (heart) & Sunagimo (gizzard) — tender, well-marinated, & grilled over binchotan charcoal under the kemuri supervision. Ended with mains — Grilled Kurobuta Pork Loin Steak, which was tender & well-paired w vegs; decent but incomparable to the next main. Wagyu Diced Steak was melt-in-mouth, juicy & flavour-packed — this dish has me thinking about it for DAYS. Can’t forget their free-flow alcohol (it’s literally the highlight of this promo) — bottles imported monthly from Japan, & they don’t come diluted! My favourites: Yuzu Umeshu & Coke Highball. A fantastic Japanese izakaya at reasonable prices. Xiao Hui provided excellent service—quick and friendly. Waitress so attentive for customer.The portions were just right, perfect for sharing. Every dish was cooked to perfection, and the ingredients were fresh! The taste was superb. It feels more like a bar here, with a minimum spend of two drinks, creating a lively atmosphere. However, the drinks are served in plastic cups. Highly recommended!

Very good affordable izakaya style japanese place. Plates are definitely for sharing and whole the portions aren't enormous, each dish is cooked well and fresh! Great tastes. Also more of a bar too as there's a 2 drink minimum to keep things lively. They come in plastic cups tho. Would recommend!
